There are also many great neighborhoods in north San Antonio. These are a few great neighborhoods in North San Antonio.

San Antonio offers a wonderful environment in which to raise children, and have a high quality family life. In fact, it has amazing restaurants, beautiful scenic parks, top ranking school choices, and a variety of homeschool groups to choose from. San Antonio is a very large city, which many don’t realize until they arrive here. Just because our downtown area looks, does not mean that we are a small city. Looks can be deceiving. There are many great neighborhoods in North San Antonio, but here are a few that you don’t want to miss!



First, Stone Oak is comprised of land that was once several ranches and is the product of the vision of a few developers. A neighborhood just north of 1604 (and along Highway 281) that has experienced incredible growth over the last decade. Stone Oak has developed many modern conveniences while still retaining its hill country charm. This northbound trend has predominantly attracted families and affluent professionals. They are often drawn in by the excellent schools, and the expansive Hill Country views. It is home to San Antonio’s premiere medical community (Stone Oak), which boasts top school districts (North East Independent School District). Presently, this area has homes priced from $210,000 up to $2.9 Million.


Stone Oak has convenient shopping centers to include shopping at The Village at Stone Oak, a short ride to I-10 to The Shops at La Cantera, and at the corner of 1604 and I10, at The Rim Shopping Center. This neighborhood area is positioned between three major malls. The Rim and La Cantera sit to the west, North Star Mall to the south, and Rolling Oaks Mall to the east, each about a 15 minute drive from Stone Oak.
